Accounting Specialist

General Description

The Accounting Associate will perform specialized accounting functions for inter-company procedures and practices in accordance with company policies, accounting procedures, and contractual obligations. This position will work directly with Project Management and Project Controls teams to manage and coordinate inter-company projects; reconcile accounting systems and validate department general ledger accounts, project budgets, invoicing, payables, receivables, and other related financial information which may include invoicing and reporting format, revenue, and cash projections, and analyzing inter-company project financial data. This role will advise management on financial performance of inter-company projects as well as review activity of projects specific to project accounting and contractual obligations.  

Duties

  • Participate in change management to include identification, documentation, and assisting with developing inter-company processes
  • Manage, track, and report inter-company projects by account
  • Resolve differences with inter-company operating units
  • Assist with monthly progress & management reports
  • Maintain project documents, storage, and logs
  • Capture and maintain project meeting notes and action items list
  • Support internal audits
  • Develop and maintain knowledge and understanding of contract elements including but not limited to project scope, schedules, tracking of deliverables, processing of invoices, purchase orders, policies, and procedures.
  • Continuously search for ways to improve the reporting process at the operating unit level and to the corporate office
  • Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform special projects and completes other duties as assigned or requested

Preferred Experience and Education

  • 1-5 years of work experience in a business office environment
  • 1-2 years accounting experience
  • High School Diploma
